Ranks & Titles
The ranking structure of DoH is unique as we created it when we formed. However, the premise is the same as any other structured guild, we have an entry level rank, that of Ward, and higher ranks you acquire through promotions. The War Council, a select group of members who aid and advise the Warlord, gives the promotions. The basis of promotions varies by rank, however fundamentally they are awarded for dedication to the guild and your participation within the guild.
Aside from ranks we also have titles. Titles are varied from game to game but they are a way to make a mark for yourself within the game itself. Ranks with us are a consistent thing carried from game to game whereas titles are recognition within the game. Acquiring a title varies based on the title itself, so be sure to check the Titles page for more information.
Guild Nights
We have scheduled guild nights that are every Wednesday and Sunday at 8pm EST, however Sunday is the dedicated night where Wednesday is more informal. We use these nights for organized gaming.
Voice Chat
Ventrilo is the voice chat software of choice with us and we all use it. You'll find most of us on it whenever we're playing. It is HIGHLY recommended that you download and use the software as it makes everything that much easier. If you are unable to use Vent for some reason though we will try and communicate with you through other means but we will also not go out of our way to type out everything being discussed either. If you are capable of using Vent then do so, it's in your best interest. Don't worry, we don't bite and there's no reason to be shy.
Guild Participation
We do have rules governing guild participation. We expect members to be active on our forums, this is a community and you should feel a part of that. You should try and make the guild nights whenever you can, but we're real people too so we understand that life takes priority.
If you are going to be inactive for a while then all we ask is a simple acknowledgement to that effect. We don't need to know why you are going to be away, just that you are going to be away is fine. We understand life comes first and we expect that it should, but be kind enough to give us notice when possible.
In the end we are a group of friends that hang out and play games. The idea is to have fun when you log on, not to have to worry about drama. We're pretty casual here and are composed of mature individuals, that's how we like to keep it.
