Does anyone have recommendations for a good USB Gaming Headset (w/microphone)?

I can't say I do but why do you want a mic and headset all in one? I use a desktop mic and normal headphones so I can get quality headphones and it makes replacement far easier.

I'm using the creative Fatality gaming headset and it's pretty good. Although it's not USB. It's served me well so far. I've had it for about 9 months if not a little longer than that.

Now here are a few that I got from searches that seem decent. Although the price is well above 80$ i don't think you can get a decent gaming headset for under 50$.

Look for brands like Logitech, Razer, Turtle Beach, Altec Lansing,

Here are steelseries gaming headsets... http://www.steelseries.com/us/products/audio
Tritton seems to have decent headsets.

Don't quote me on anything I say as I dont' have much experience in dealing with headsets. All I know is that mine works fine =)

Steel Series shit sucks.

I'm with Thor on the quality of all-in-ones.

Logitech has a set that has both USB and 3.5mm.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/webcam_communications/internet_headsets_phones/devices/2986&cl=US,EN

Seems like 3.5mm right into sound card might (MIGHT) keep processing i/o on the card, whereas usb means mainboard/system bus (which is finite).

I dunno if thats true, just an observation and probably relative to the soundcard.

hmm, I guess I could pass on all-in-ones... I didn't realize a desktop mic would work that well. It WOULD make things easier. Got any recommendations on a USB mic? My audio-in is somewhat foobared.

I'm using a Logitech one, USB, and it's been great. I got mine at BestBuy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5431927&st=microphones&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1055388008858

I know I paid less in store for it than it lists at that link. Pretty sure I paid around $25 for it when I got mine months ago.
