So Google has gone and released a web browser of there own. Just wondering if anyone has tried it out or not. If so what are your thoughts on it. Just curious is anything out there is as good or better than Firefox.

I think Chrome is more about pushing browsers forward than it is about beating IE. The released their browser under a very open license (I'm pretty sure it's BSD licensed). That means Microsoft could put some of the code into IE and Firefox could use some of the code as well. As long as there is a good browser out there, then Google can push their email, word processor suite, etc. I think they are disappointed at the progress being made at next-gen apps, don't like silverlight, so this is their answer.

Personally I'm sticking with Firefox. There is an update due out soon that will make javascript in FireFox a ton faster.

ooh, some more news about the next FF...

I can't stand the bookmark interface Chrome has. Once they improve that though, I'll consider migrating from Firefox. It is a very clean looking browser. I'd also actually have to have an interest in the web apps and so far I don't.

Tris is right, Google was really just trying to push browsers forward and showing what can be done. IE and Firefox have been rather complacent, so hopefully Google changes that.

Anyone tried the new IE8 yet?  It's supposed to be the bestest stealth browser.

I only bother with IE because I have to as a developer, but as a consumer I won't use it.

Flashblock and noscript are some of the best plugins out there.

Have you found a GOOD PDF viewer?  I've got pdfscape, and it sucks, and the other big one is the same..  needs registration, etc. It DOES edit on the fly, aout the only good point.  Otherwise.. bleah.
